王菲 1994 "十万个为什么"
专辑的重头戏是引起强烈反响的《冷战》。敢于翻唱Tori Amos的勇气不是每个人都有的，王菲的这一步简直就是下注。她赢了，还很光彩。能让Tori Amos的音乐普及化，许如芸做不到，王菲做到了。将《Silent All These Years》与《冷战》比较对于我更象是将英文与中文比较。单单评判嗓音过于主观，而演绎上各有精彩。英文语音的特点可以使大段的唱词犹如行云流水一般一泻直下，从句的灵活运用，修饰的错落有致也展示了语言的魅力。中文歌的词就得一个个唱出，只靠音的强弱去配合节奏。但中文逻辑关系的暗藏又可让一些成分被巧妙地重复或省略。林夕的这首词是让我满意的，配上华美的钢琴声，表现出爱人的细微心理。和《Silent》相比，高潮部分我就更喜欢《冷战》，“破裂过厌弃过怨过伤过变过，你我却永远怕说破。”这样的词，英文怎么唱得出如王菲版冷酷。

后来孙燕资也唱过英文版，只是...差了很远
